Yoga instructor with Yogis Without Borders
I’m Oleksandra and I invite you to practice yoga with me in Austin, Texas. My Hatha classes include study of asanas and pranayamas.
YOU WILL FEEL BETTER after hatha class with me, not just hot, tired and sore. How?
In the class we use asana alignment as a method of restoring healthy muscular balance. This, in its turn, relieves the persistent strain in muscles, tones the weak zones, and helps to correct posture. This is the base for fostering health and general well-being, carrying the effects of hatha yoga into our daily lives.
We learn to recognize the effects of yoga from the inside, not just recreating the shapes of asanas. When asanas are done correctly, practitioners may feel distinct somatic sensations throughout the body. Esoteric systems may attribute such sensations to the effects on one of the subtle, or ‘fine’ bodies. Now our practice takes us to the dimension beyond purely physical.
In classes we will try to notice the subtle sensations and see how they correlate with the practice. I will discuss the key concepts such as ‘energy’, so we can use clear and precise language to describe the practice and its effects.
My favorite part of teaching is seeing the student’s AHA moments, when they are discovering new sensations, greater freedom of movement and deeper breath.
My teaching follows the tradition of the Ukrainian Federation of Yoga and the principles presented in my teacher Andrey Safronov’s book ‘Yoga: Physiology, Psychosomatics, Bioenergetics’ which is available online. I recommend it as an introduction to the approach and as a guide for home practice.
Hatha classes are open to everyone. Welcome to practice with me — in the park or a studio. If you want to know about current classes, join my Instagram Broadcast channel (use link on mobile).

Before I introduce myself, let me introduce yoga first.
As a yoga instructor I start by teaching physical exercises — asanas and pranayamas. These are the necessary components of working with our physical body. However the greater yoga is not limited to this.
The many yogic practices are aimed at working with a person’s emotional states. These go far beyond self-affirmations and relaxation techniques. They uncover the depth of our inner selves, and teach us to follow the meaningful motives, and say ‘no’ to destructive ones.
I have been a yoga practitioner with the Ukrainian Federation of Yoga since 2010. Over this time yoga changed my life completely. From guarded, unsure and sad youth I grew into a person capable of building communities, organizing festivals, nourishing creativity and growing relationships based on warmth and love. My wish is to share with others that, which made it possible — the methods of the greater yoga. For this reason I’ve become a Ukrainian Federation of Yoga instructor trainee with the Yogis Without Borders team.
Yoga practice with the Ukrainian Federation of Yoga emphasizes growing intellectually, and that is what gives me goosebumps.
Learning to find the answers to one’s questions is also part of yogic tradition. What is more beautiful, as one grows, the questions grow too. Their complexity, their depth.
Now I live and teach yoga in Austin, USA and also online.
I am a yogi and also a flamenco dancer, both worlds big enough to create a lifetime path each, but I’m finding myself in their intricate interplay. I love Spain. I call it my second home. I am grateful for the flamenco and life lessons — those of love, devotion and passion.
My other big adventure is motherhood. It came to me later than it did to my mother and my grandmother — a story that is no longer uncommon in my generation. With a dear soul beautifully embodied in the sweet little girl, this is yet another path of learning and exploration.
My stories flow and ask for sequels. Life goes on. I open my heart and my experiences to my future students. If this resonates with you, perhaps we’ll meet on the mat.
Development never ends. As long as we continue to grow, we are on the right path.
